So I'm a wedding photographer, and this weekend was my first wedding on the diet.
Wedding days are a challenge because:
a.) We are usually eating on the road
2.) We are generally expected to eat at least *something* at the reception
3.) Being on my feet for 11 hours makes me HUNGRY
But I did well at the wedding and reception. I ate breakfast at home and brought an energy bar for a morning snack so that was no problem. For lunch, I ate a whole wheat turkey sammich with mustard instead of the mayo and a couple wheat crackers, and at the reception I avoided the cake and ate a cluster of grapes, an ounce(cube) of cheddar, and a few celery stalks.
So, good!
THEN the 3.5 hour drive home came along. We looked and looked for a place to eat supper and ended up at a mexican restaurant in the middle of nowhere. I had a veggie burrito plate, with a side of rice (first mistake.) But surprise! It came with a cheese enchilada. (ouch!)
I ended going about 350 calories over my limit yesterday, and I'm feeling it today.
So question: are there any safer bets at a mexican restaurant? I thought the bean burrito would be harmless...
